Net Run Rate Calculator: multiple matches & all-out innings

Sports24hour reference desk · reviewed 22 October 2026. Independent explanatory tools; no account required.

Calculate cricket net run rate (NRR) across up to 30 completed matches. Add runs scored and conceded, actual innings overs, and the allocated full-over quota for each match. Tick an all-out innings so the calculation uses its full quota.

Scope: ordinary six-ball-over matches. Exclude no-results, Super Overs and forfeits. This tool does not adjust DLS-affected matches or calculate a rain target. Use the organizer’s official table for those cases.

Net run rate summary

Net run rate formula

NRR = total runs scored ÷ total effective overs faced − total runs conceded ÷ total effective overs bowled. We calculate with legal balls, then multiply runs per ball by six. A positive value means your scoring rate is higher than your conceding rate across the entered matches.

Worked example: do not average match NRRs

Match 1: your team scores 180 in 20 overs and concedes 160 in 20. Match 2: your team makes 101 in 10 overs after conceding 100 in 20. Combined scoring rate: 281 ÷ 30 = 9.366667. Conceding rate: 260 ÷ 40 = 6.5. Tournament NRR: +2.867 after rounding. Averaging the separate match NRR values would give the wrong answer.

Why the all-out checkbox matters

If 150 all out takes 18.2 overs in a 20-over innings, enter 18.2 as the actual overs and tick all out. Its NRR denominator becomes 20 overs. Without all out, 18.2 means 110 legal balls, not 18.2 decimal overs.

Can I use this as an IPL or T20 World Cup NRR calculator?

It provides the basic aggregate NRR arithmetic for ordinary completed matches. Competition-specific adjustments, DLS, forfeits and stage carry-over rules are outside its scope. Enter only the matches belonging to the same relevant league stage and compare with official standings.

Why does my result differ from a points table?

Check whether you entered all completed matches in the correct stage, used full quota for all-out innings, omitted no-results and Super Overs, and handled cricket overs correctly. Published tables may round or apply special match adjustments.

Will a positive NRR guarantee qualification?

No. Points, wins and other competition tie-breakers can come before NRR. This tool calculates a statistic, not a qualification probability.

Are my scores saved online?

No. Inputs and calculations stay in this page. Download CSV or print the summary before closing or reloading it.
