One of the smashing openers of Pakistan cricket team Sharjeel Khan has been signed with country side Leicestershire for the upcoming Natwest T20 Blast 2017. This news announced on 7th september. Leicestershire team finished this 2016 natwest t20 blast on bottom of the north group as they won only four games out of 14 matches.
Sharjeel Khan performing good in the T20 format since becoming the first player to score a century for the pakistan super league. Sharjeel plays with a averages of 27.17 from the 66 T20 games with a healthy strike rate of 141.83. Sharjeel scored 62 ball century against ireland in the ODI.
“I am aware that there was keen interest from other counties, so I am delighted that we have managed to secure someone of Sharjeel’s ability for the duration of the 2017 NatWest T20 Blast campaign,” Leicestershire Chief Executive Wasim Khan said. “He is a powerful hitter who will offer us another option as a T20 opener. We have been watching Sharjeel closely this summer, where he has caught the eye of many with his dynamic ball striking.”
