Srilankan Legendary Batsman Boost Adelaide Strikers stocks as he replace West Indies Pollard. For the upcoming Big Bash T20 League 2015-16, Former Sri lanka Team Captain Mahela Jayawardene has been joined to Adelaide Strikers squad for BBL 5. He is replaces kieron Pollard because of the ruled out of the competition due to knee injury in the ram slam t20 tournament.
In interview Jason Gillespie coach of STrikers said he was very disappointed when he know that pollard not played in BBL but now they relax after pick the Mahela so said its a perfect replacement for team.
Mahela Jayawardene is the most greatest batsman in the world and key players for this type of Twenty20 and shorter format of cricket. They are playing almost 600+ matches from srilanka team and widely regarded as one of the cricket’s modern great bastman.
“Mahela is a champion of the game and is without a doubt one of the greatest batsman to play cricket in the modern era,” Gillespie said. “Having played against him myself I’m fully aware of the type of damage he can do, so it’ll be exciting to have him on our side this time.”
Mahela who is retire from International cricket after the end of cricket world cup 2015 but they continue to his career in domestic competition. Few days ago in the New Zealand T20 domestic tournament they also scored 97 run in just 59 balls from a Northern Knights team.
“Losing Pollard was disappointing because he definitely provided our team with extra spark, but Mahela has been in really good form in New Zealand and we’re confident we’ve found a very capable replacement,” added Gillespie.
“He’s been in the game for a long time and I think the younger batters in the group will definitely learn a lot having both Mahela and Brad Hodge in the squad.”

The Strikers starting their BBL campaign by placing the first encounter of BBL 2015-16 against the Melbourne Stars at Adelaide Oval on Friday, 18 December.
